What to do
- Update to the latest version (2.25.0). Anything older than 2.23.1 has at least one known issue listed below. Dashboard → Updates, or Plugins → “update now”.
- If you cannot update right away, deactivate it until you can.
- Turn on auto-updates for it: Plugins → “Enable auto-updates” on its row.
- If you ran a vulnerable version and something looks off (spam pages, strange admins, redirects), run the free scan.
With WP-CLI: wp plugin get wpmastertoolkit --field=version shows what you run; wp plugin update wpmastertoolkit updates it.

Details from the advisory
The WPMasterToolKit plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to PHP Code Injection in all versions up to, and including, 2.13.0. This is due to the plugin allowing Author-level users to create and execute arbitrary PHP code through the Code Snippets feature without proper capability checks. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with Contributor-level access and above, to execute arbitrary PHP code on the server, leading to remote code execution, privilege escalation, and complete site compromise.
