What to do now

  1. There is no fixed version yet. If you can manage without DirectoryPress for now, deactivate and delete it until the developer ships a fix.
  2. If you must keep it, cut down who can log in (remove unused accounts, especially low-level ones, and turn off open registration) and put a web application firewall in front of the site.
  3. Check the DirectoryPress page for a fix; it updates when the CVE feeds do.
  4. Not sure which version you run? Check your version against every known DirectoryPress issue. With WP-CLI: wp plugin get directorypress --field=version.
  5. If you ran an affected version and something looks off (new admin users, spam pages, redirects), run the free scan below.
