What to do now

  1. Replace Modern Events Calendar Lite. A closed plugin gets no updates through WordPress, so this hole stays open.
  2. Deactivate and delete it once you have a replacement (Plugins → Deactivate → Delete). Deactivating alone leaves its files on the server.
  3. Not sure which version you run? Check your version against every known Modern Events Calendar Lite issue.
  4. If you ran an affected version and something looks off (new admin users, spam pages, redirects), run the free scan below.

The advisory

The Modern Events Calendar Lite WordPress plugin before 7.37.0 does not perform capability, nonce, or ownership checks before returning event booking and attendee data, allowing any authenticated user, including Subscribers, to disclose the names, email addresses, transaction IDs and payment amounts of every booking on the site.
