What to do now

  1. Update FunnelKit to 3.17.0 or newer (the latest is 3.18.0): Dashboard → Updates, or Plugins → “update now”.
  2. If you cannot update right away, deactivate it until you can.
  3. Turn on auto-updates for it: Plugins → “Enable auto-updates” on its row.
  4. Not sure which version you run? Check your version against every known FunnelKit issue. With WP-CLI: wp plugin get funnel-builder --field=version.
  5. If you ran an affected version and something looks off (new admin users, spam pages, redirects), run the free scan below.

The advisory

The FunnelKit – Funnel Builder for WooCommerce Checkout plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to authorization bypass in all versions up to, and including, 3.16.0.6 This is due to the plugin not properly verifying that a user is authorized to perform an action. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to retrieve billing PII — including full name, street address, email address, and phone number — for any WooCommerce order on the site by submitting an enumerable sequential order ID. This is only exploitable on sites where a FunnelKit thank-you page exists that renders the [wfty_order_meta] or [wfty_order_total] shortcode.
